FULL HOUSE. A DOCUMENTARY
This is a documentary which I shot in Koh Tao, Thailand, and the narrator is Andrew Townend. The film was officially selected and screened in the 16th International Underwater Film Festival of Belgrade, Serbia & the 10th Festival of Underwater Photography and Videography, Pancevo, Serbia.
In the summer of 2008 I went to Koh Tao, Thailand, to make the BSAC Underwater Documentary course at Oceans Below. I spent a whole month working on the field and learning the basics of underwater videography and editing. At the end of this course I had to present a final project and I was totally out of ideas. I always thought I would make it o some classy big fish, but I remember one day I was diving at 17 meters deep, looking for a possible subject for my doc, ad then I saw something moving at the ocean floor.
This little guy popped out of its hiding place ad stood firm at its entrance, guarding it, looking at me with defiance ad bravery from the bottom of its minuscule shiny expressive eyes. In that precise moment I surrendered to the Goby fish ad followed it for ten days to tell its fascinating story.
The final Project of my BSAC course was conceiving, shooting and editing a documentary. I always thought I would make it on some classy big fish, but I remember one day I was diving at 17 meters, looking for a possible subject for my doc, and then, in a really arid sea floor, I saw this little guy popping out of its hiding place, looking at me with defiance and bravery from the bottom of its minuscule shiny expressive eyes. In that precise moment I surrendered to the Goby Fish and followed him for ten days to tell its fascinating story.
